Position Overview:
We are seeking a trained birth doula to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting families through the childbirth process, offering comfort, advocacy, and guidance. This role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to the well-being of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prenatal support through in-person meetings as well as support through call, text, and email.
  • Provide continuous labor support, including emotional reassurance, physical comfort measures, and informational guidance.
  • Assist clients in developing birth plans and help them navigate their birth preferences.
  • Offer postpartum support, including newborn care guidance, breastfeeding assistance, and emotional support.
  • Maintain availability for individual clients, typically from 37 weeks gestation until birth.
  • Document client interactions and maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with other birth professionals and healthcare providers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certification preferred but not required.
  • At least one year of experience as a practicing birth doula.
  • Strong understanding of childbirth processes and comfort techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in postpartum doula support, lactation consulting, or childbirth education.
  • Experience with diverse populations and cultural competency.
